How Marcos sounds
Two syllables make Marcos compact enough for everyday use but long enough to carry some melody. With a breathy consonant at the end, Marcos has an airy, tapering finish. There is a spark in the way Marcos sounds, with its snappy consonants and clean attack. Marcos has slipped in U.S. birth records in recent years, a name that now reads as timeless rather than trendy. In U.S. birth records Marcos has been given mostly to boys.
The Saju view
Marcos starts on M, B, P, F or V, a sound that Korean name reading would place in the water group and that this scheme carries over to English. Names that sound like Marcos are filed under water. When a birth chart runs low on water, a name like this is read as adding what is missing. In the cycle where each element nourishes the next, water gives rise to wood, so Marcos earns some credit for charts missing wood. A chart that already holds plenty of water is better served by another name, since Marcos would add to it.

The astrology view
To the ear Marcos sounds fire, the element of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Those signs hear a familiar voice in it, and Gemini, Libra and Aquarius find it a friendly partner. For earth and water signs, the fire sound of Marcos pulls the other way, and the ranking reflects that.
